DAG Statement on COVID-19

Dear friends and partners of DAG.

In the light of COVID-19 pandemic and President declaring a State of Disaster in South Africa, DAG is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety and well-being of our staff and partners. In consultation with the board and staff, we are continuing to work remotely, but have decided to postpone any large community gatherings until further notice to avoid any spread of the pandemic. Our office will remain open, with a skeleton staff and will operate as an advice office, providing necessary authorised and verified information to our partners. Pamphlets and print outs of authorised information with regards to the spread of the virus, preventative measures and testing centres can be obtained by calling our offices. The current situation is volatile, and although we all remain optimistic, the reality is that we simply cannot predict with any certainty what the next few weeks will bring.

Our partners and communities are our greatest assets. PLEASE KEEP SAFE, practice responsible attitudes and behaviour. Let us all practice social distancing and do our bit to combat the spread of the virus in our communities and country. Please be do not send or circulate misinformation or un-verified news on various social media platforms, which creates unnecessary panic and anxiety. It is a difficult time for all and calm heads are needed right now if we are going to avert this national crisis.
