Nishendra is an urban governance specialist and transformational leader with a Master’s degree in Governance, as well as a consistent commitment to democracy, decentralisation and sustainable development. He has worked on local government policy development, monitoring and evaluation processes for the national government, and institutional transformation projects for municipalities. Nishendra has a strong interest in intergovernmental relations, decentralisation and systems of accountability to citizens. Central to his work is an understanding that transparency and openness to engage, are critical to accountability, trust, learning and innovative problem solving across society. He believes that change is most effectively realised through improved collaboration between government, business and civil society.
